Mission

The Mardjani Foundation for the Support and Development of Research and Cultural Programs is a nongovernmental noncommercial institution established in 2006 and pursuing original projects to develop the humanities, culture and art. Initially, our activities included many areas, but over time the main one stood out. Currently, the Mardjani Foundation sees its mission in the study and popularization of Turkic and Islamic art and culture in our country.

The main problem of modern Russian society in relation to Islam is obsessive stereotypes as a consequence of superficial knowledge of the Muslim world, which has made an undeniable contribution to the treasury of world culture. Our humanitarian mission is to show the diversity and universal value of the art of Muslim peoples living in Russia and neighboring countries, whose cultures have long interacted, enriching each other.

We have developed an extensive art collection and present it to the public through exhibitions, scholarly publications, and online resources. Our goal is to create a new world-class museum of Islamic art in Russia, which will become an open living platform that reveals the beauty of Islamic art, helping to master the heritage of the past and turn it into a support for the present and future.
