Festive attire for wealthy peasants. The woman is wearing a silk dress with flounces sewn to the ends of the sleeves and hem. A bib covers the neckline, and the dress is decorated with embroidery. She also wears a silk camisole, a light silk handkerchief, and earrings with small silver pendants. Her feet are covered in ichigi. The man is dressed in a long light fabric shirt with a collar trimmed in colored braid. He also wears a camisole and trousers tucked into his ichigi, along with a velvet skullcap.
The traditional clothing of the Tatars, as it developed in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, represents a unique and distinctive aspect of their material culture.
Based on materials collected through long-term observation, the artist L.L. Speranskaya graphically recreated the costume of Tatars in her artwork.
