Dede Korkut

The readers are invited to a novel by the Azerbaijani author Anar, based on the ancient Turkic-Oguz epic “The Book of My Grandfather Korkut”. The story covers almost all the themes, plotlines, episodes, and even individual motifs from this ancient work. In the novel, all the positive values that Oguz society lived by, and which were immortalized by storytellers, are vividly emphasized. The central theme of the story “Dede Korkut” is the Oguz desire to live in peace and harmony with one another and their neighbors.
