The name of Chingiz Akhmarov (1912-1995) is indissolubly linked with the history of fine arts in Uzbekistan in the 20th century.
Akhmarov was a national artist of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, a State Prize winner, a professor and a teacher. His rich creative legacy includes thousands of paintings and graphic works. He painted many monumental mural paintings in Tashkent, Kazan, and Moscow, and his oriental decorative style combined with his organic experience of the European painting school led to the formation of his famous and recognizable artistic style.
