Dastan "Idegey" is the largest example of oral, poetic, and literary work of the Tatar and many other Turkic peoples - descendants of the Golden Horde.
Versions of the dastan in Tatar, with significant variations, were distributed across the Volga-Ural region, Western Siberia, and the Crimea. The dastan stands out for its unique poetry and profound content.
The prominent poet and translator, Ravil Bukharaev, saw it as his duty to translate it into Russian. Colourful illustrations were created by Azat Minnekaev, who immersed himself deeply in the Horde theme for this project. This was one of his last works.
The book's design was created by Damir Zalyaletdinov.
