This collection is the second in the series Russian Art. The 20th Century. It continues the examination of little-studied or tendentiously interpreted phenomena in our art of the past century. The range of research covers the entire 20th century: the volume includes articles on the Blue Rose and the Jack of Diamonds, on Constructivism and Suprematism, on the painting of OST (Society of Easel Painters) and Art Deco. Alongside these are materials analysing phenomena of the more recent past: postmodernism in Russian painting of the late 20th century, the world of childhood in the art of the 1980s–1990s, and others. The work of such masters as M. Larionov, I. Kliun, A. Arkhipenko, M. Chagall appears in a new light on the pages of the book. Previously unpublished memoirs of S.M. Romanovich about M. Larionov, diaries of P. Golubyatnikov, and letters of A. Yavlensky are also published. For art historians and all those interested in the history of Russian art.
