This monograph represents the first attempt to understand modern Sufism within the space of the former Soviet Union as a complex and diverse phenomenon. The authors focus on the followers of Sufi teachings and members of Sufi communities in various regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and Siberia, as well as Ukraine and Central Asia, particularly Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The authors utilized interviews with Sufi followers, participation in their activities, texts, and social media platforms on the internet, private archives, and visual materials as primary sources. This monograph is intended for scholars and a broader audience interested in topics related to Islam and Sufism.
