The Ornament of the Tara Tatars of the Late 19th — 20th Centuries: Towards the Problem of Ethnocultural History

The book is dedicated to the study of the ornamental art of the Tara Tatars, residing in the Omsk region, and to identifying certain stages in the ethnocultural history of this sub-ethnos. Based on an analysis of the applied and visual aspects of the ornaments, and drawing upon analogies from ethnographic and archaeological materials, the author outlines the dynamics of the development of the "art of ornamentation" among the Tara Tatars. The book is intended for historians, ethnographers, archaeologists, cultural studies scholars, art historians, and all those interested in this subject area.
